Great Location and Friendly Staff
Spent Easter weekend at this hotel and loved the location, near to the main attractions and restaurants of the city. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The room was cozy and comfortable, with a good shower and nice decor.
The downside was the excessive noise from the busy street outside the hotel, which made it difficult to sleep at night. the price was quite expensive compared to other hotels in the area, and the breakfast could have been better.

Breakfast and staff - everything of fantastic quality. The room was perfect for a family. Next to westgate gardens. We enjoyed the fact that we chose Sun.

Our overall experience was very good, the hotel is lovely and the room was very comfortable. There were few staff but the was always someone available when we needed them. Breakfast was great.
the only downside to the hotel was the lack of parking and lack information about where to park on the website... we figured it out and if you have an i phone i highly recommend the ringgo app to help with your parking.

This hotel is in a great location, right in the center of town. It's just a short walk to the cathedral, making it incredibly convenient for exploring. the rooms have a lot of character, with wonky floors and steep stairs that showcase the building's age. the cathedral room on the top floor offers a nice view of the street below. the bathrooms are modern and well-maintained, with high-quality fixtures. the staff does their best to cater to guests' dietary preferences, even going out of their way to provide vegan options for breakfast.

Stayed in a historic building with traditional decor. the hotel was located in the heart of the city, surrounded by medieval buildings and only a short walk away from the main attraction. the breakfast was delicious and cooked to order, allowing for a perfect start of the day.
The noise level was high, especially on weekends with people leaving nearby pubs and the early morning bin collection. the wifi was not available in the rooms, making it difficult to stay connected.

the sun hotel was extremely comfortable, full of character and easy to find, however with no carpark facility and very limited parking in Canterbury access is perhaps limited. however the room was spacious, water was always boiling hot, bed very comfortable providing a good night's sleep. The breakfast, choice of 3, we had -Full English was tasty and very 'full'. The owner was extremely attentive and full of helpful advice re- restaurants, etc. We plan on returning next Spring.

the staff was great
the washroom was awefully small, that i can't even stand straight... plus it's pretty much over priced

The location was fantastic. Once parked, it was great to simply walk out the door to find restaurants, cafes, shops and the Cathedral at one's doorstep.I really enjoyed the fact that it was a small hotel in an old. historic and beautifully restored building.
Difficult to access with it being a vehicle restricted area, though I was able to drive up and off load, but then I had to find the car park for a 24 hour stay. Bit confusing as a non local especially as I arrived to find that I didn't have have enough English coins and the parking machines didn't recognise my cards. Maybe some extra information regarding parking would have been handy. A positive point - being the beautiful old building, was also a negative point. If you are on the tallish side then taking a shower or simply entering the bathroom in our room {which was really smart} was a little hazardous. My daughter banged her head quite hard on taking the step up. Luckily my husband {6ft 4ins} was not with us!

Andrew, the proprietor, could not have been more welcoming and the whole time during our 3 night stay was relaxing. We liked it so much that we plan to spend our wedding night in the Sun Room again before jetting off on our honeymoon :)

location excellent, staff helpful and friendly; we also got a free upgrade to the Chaucer Room, so this review is based on that room

The manager was very helpful and polite, particularly as I was on crutches and not very mobile. It was an ideal location.
